Investment of $10.3 million
- Concessionaire expanded proactively, foreseeing future growth in passenger arrivals.

The Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport has an additional 4,118 square meters in its boarding rooms and 417 m2 in its main hall as of today, and new facilities such as six counters for airlines, six stores and a Carousel in the baggage reception area.
The inauguration and reception of the expansion works of CORIPORT to the State was made official on Saturday, July 21 with the visit of the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, within the framework of the Guanacaste Tour.
In a formal ceremony, the President of the Republic, the Minister of Tourism, Maria Amalia Revelo, deputies of the area and other authorities announced that this new expansion increased its capacity to serve up to 300 thousand more passengers per year.
“The growth of this airport directly benefits the entire province of Guanacaste. As a concessionaire, we are committed to constant and proactive improvements that guarantee the passenger a unique experience in both arrival and departure, “said César Jaramillo, General Manager of CORIPORT.
“We recognize tourism as the engine of the national economy and its multiplier effect to improve the quality of life of thousands of Costa Ricans,” said the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado.
For the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT by its initials in Spanish), the project is important because of the high impact generated by the province of Guanacaste, the arrival of more tourists every year.
Since the beginning of this administration, the arrival at this airport of more than four new international flights has been announced. “We are joining efforts to diversify the market for flights to Liberia, an objective in which we have been working jointly with the airport concessionaire and the Guanacaste Chamber of Tourism,” said the Minister of Tourism.
The works represent an investment of more than $ 10.3 million by CORIPORT. They are added to the implementation of the diplomatic room, remodeling of the logistics center and the solid waste area.
Dealer of the Costa Rican State since 2010 for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the new passenger terminal and associated ground facilities of the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport. Since 2016, the air terminal receives more than one million passengers per year thanks to the arrival of 12 airlines with an average of 30 international flights per day.
